Foodbank
Our Lady's parish has a weekly collection of food and other household items that are distributed to local families in need at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Primary School. There is no distribution from the parish house or church.
Please donate only items that have a prolonged shelf-life, as we don't have facilities for refrigerating and distributing fresh food. It helps us with transport/storage if all items are donated in carrier bags.
Donated items can be brought to:
At certain times of year (such as holidays) alternative arrangements are made for collections; please check the latest edition of the parish newsletter for details.
Thank you for supporting those in need of solidarity.
Other provision
In addition to the parish school Foodbank, Our Lady's Church contributes to the annual Harvest appeal of Carecent, a charity which provides breakfast and support in York city centre to the homeless, unemployed, and socially-marginalised.
Other Foodbanks operate in various locations across York.
