The Sisters of Mercy
The Sisters of Mercy - known officially as The Institute of Mercy, or Religious Sisters of Mercy (RSM) - were founded by Catherine McAuley in the 1820s in Baggot Street, Dublin. Inspired and energised by McAuley's compassion, courage, and vision, the Sisters strive by a life of prayer and service to be the merciful face of Christ in every circumstance of their lives. They commit to making Mercy the business of their lives through the service of poor, sick, and underprivileged people.
Currently there are some 180 Sisters ministering from some 40 sites in Britain, South Sudan, Ireland, Kenya, Peru, and Romania. The Sisters of Mercy moved from Lawrence Street into Our Lady’s parish in 2015, and are very happy to be part of our worshipping community. |
Sister Mary Horan moved to the parish in 2018.
