The Carmelites
The Bishop of Middlesbrough, Terry Drainey, with local clergy members of the Carmelite Family, at the ordination to the priesthood of Fr. Ged Walsh, which took place in our parish in January 2015.
Between 2014 and 2018 our parish was entrusted by Middlesbrough Diocese to the pastoral care of the Carmelite Order. The York Carmelite Spirituality Group continues to meet at Our Lady's and has a good library of Carmelite books and resources which are available to all.
The community meets monthly at Our Lady's to explore the riches of the Carmelite tradition. York Carmelite Spirituality Group is open to all.
