Social Volunteering Project (SVP)
In 2018 the parish branch of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society reformed as the Social Volunteering Project so as to better focus our resources on the needs of the local poor.
We seek to translate concern for others into practical action; to reach out to find those in need, to help them in a spirit of justice, and to tackle poverty where possible.
Working behind the scenes, our volunteers do vital work, and are often a lifeline for families and individuals. We work especially with those in financial need and those suffering social isolation.
The Social Volunteering Project is supported by donations from the parish, and your prayers; we are very grateful for your generous support.
The Parish SVP Group at Our Lady's meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month in the Father Kelly Room at 7pm. (See the Parish Calendar)
Perhaps you might like to get involved?
The SVP President at Our Lady's is Kath Lyall and she can be contacted c/o the Parish Office.
The Group is part of our parish's commitment to solidarity with the poor and marginalised.
